What inspired you to start your business, and how did it all begin?

Food has always been more than just a meal for me—it’s a way to connect, to tell stories, and to create lasting memories. Growing up, I was surrounded by the warmth of family gatherings where cooking together was a way of bonding. Those moments sparked my love for food and the way it brings people together.

My journey truly took shape when I moved to Miami to study at Le Cordon Bleu, diving deep into classical techniques while also discovering my own culinary voice. A transformative trip to India opened my eyes to the philosophy of food as nourishment—not just for the body, but for the soul. That experience, combined with my background in fine dining, shaped my belief that food should be meaningful, intentional, and create real human connections.

With Taste Box, I wanted to bring that philosophy to life—curating experiences where people disconnect from distractions, embrace presence, and connect over exceptional food. Whether it’s an intimate dinner, a catering event, or a special gathering, every menu I create is rooted in this vision: a space where food becomes a bridge between people, cultures, and moments that matter.

What makes your business unique compared to others in your industry?

Driven by my passion for creating unforgettable experiences, I´m not content with simply feeding my guests; through Taste Box, I aim to nourish their souls, ignite joy in their hearts, and leave them with memories that linger long after the last bite has been savored. My commitment to using food as a tool for connection permeates every aspect of my work, using meticulously curated menus, warm and welcoming atmosphere that I make sure to cultivate in my events.

 

How does your business contribute to wellbeing, sustainability, or healthy living?

At Taste Box, we believe that food is not just about sustenance—it’s about nourishing the body, mind, and soul. Our approach to well-being goes beyond just healthy ingredients; it’s about fostering meaningful connections through food and encouraging people to be fully present in the dining experience.

From a sustainability standpoint, we prioritise seasonal, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, reducing waste and supporting small producers. We also design our menus to be thoughtful and balanced, with an emphasis on vibrant vegetables, whole foods, and sustainable proteins.

More than anything, our mission is to create mindful dining experiences—whether it’s through a private event, a curated menu, or a phoneless dinner concept. By bringing people together around a beautifully crafted meal, we’re not just feeding them; we’re creating a space where they can slow down, connect, and truly enjoy the present moment. 

What’s the story behind your business name?

I wanted a name that reflected the idea of curated flavors and memorable dining moments. “Taste” speaks to the essence of flavor, craftsmanship, and the emotions food can evoke. “Box” symbolizes a selection, a surprise, an experience that brings people together. It doesn’t matter if it’s through a private dining event, a beautifully event, or a ready to eat tapas box delivered to your door.

A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Miami, Chef Taty Fernandez isn't just a chef; she's a storyteller, a memory-maker, and a passionate advocate for the power of food to forge connections and create lifelong friendships.

With a background that spans the realms of pastry, cuisine, and hospitality, Taty brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every dish she creates. As the mind behind the pastry shops Le Gâteau and LOL - Lots of Loaf, she delighted customers with her exquisite creations, infusing each bite with a touch of magic and a dash of nostalgia.

But Taty's culinary journey transcends mere gastronomy; it's about crafting moments to cherish, memories to savor, and connections to last a lifetime. At her restaurant Baobá, she transformed dining into an immersive experience, where every meal became an opportunity to connect, to share stories, and to forge new friendships.

And alongside Taty stands Dan Robinson, the visionary responsible for production and entertainment at Taste Box events. Dan rose to international prominence as one of the few emcees from Central America to achieve global recognition. With roots in Jazz, Hip Hop, and R&B, Dan's musical journey has been diverse and dynamic, culminating in his transition to the global dance music industry.

Dan's expertise as a DJ, music events producer, and MC adds an extra layer of excitement and energy to every Taste Box event. With his careful curation and organisation of artists and performers, Dan ensures that each gathering is a feast for the senses, where music, art, and culinary excellence converge to create an unforgettable experience. And with his own electrifying performances, Dan brings a personal touch of magic to every event, captivating audiences and leaving them craving more.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I used to be a lawyer before becoming a chef.

What values are most important to you in running your business?

Our most important values revolve around connection, authenticity, and sustainability. Every dish we create is rooted in respect for ingredients, cultures, and traditions, while also embracing creativity and innovation. But above all, we value genuine hospitality, ensuring that every guest feels not just welcomed, but truly at home.

Do you have a personal favourite service that you offer?

My favorite service is the private chef experience. What I love most about it is the ability to fully personalize each menu based on my client’s tastes, preferences, and even their personal stories. It’s an opportunity to craft something truly unique— such as recreating a nostalgic dish, incorporating flavors from their travels, or designing a menu that aligns with a special occasion.

Beyond the food, the intimate and immersive nature of the experience makes it so special. I get to connect with my clients on a deeper level, share the stories behind the dishes, and create an atmosphere that turns a simple meal into an unforgettable moment. The funny thing about it is that clients usually end up at the kitchen with me, talking and sharing experiences. That really inspires me!

What’s the best feedback you’ve ever received from a customer?

That we made his 70-year-old birthday a day to remember. That we created such an amazing atmosphere for him and his guests that nobody wanted the party to end.
